Imagine being able to walk into your local sneaker store and pickup the "Bred" Air Jordan 1 Retro a few days after it released. That’s how it was back in 2001. In fact the only time shoes sold out with any type of quickness was the Jordan 11s. Which means, the older cats will always be reminiscing about the good old days of buying sneakers. The Air Jordan 1 "Bred" that released in 2001 was long overdue. Jordans had begun to make a comeback in retro form but it had been since 1994 that the most famous of the Jordan 1s had been available. While stories have been told about the Air Jordan 1 being "banned" by the NBA, MJ actually never wore the "Bred" colorway during a regular season game. He wore the Bred Jordan 1 for the Slam Dunk Contest and for a number of promotional photoshoots and appearances. Nevertheless, the Air Jordan 1 in the black and red colorway is one of the most popular Air Jordan shoes ever made. The Air Jordan 1 Retro "Bred" from 2001 was nearly exact to the specifications of the original, and known officially as the Black/Varsity Red colorway, will always be sought after by Chicago Bulls fans and sneaker enthusiasts alike.
