The original Air Jordan 1 sneaker is one of the most iconic sneakers ever, but when it first arrived in the 1980s, it wasn't made out of the same high-quality materials used to manufacture it later. Jordan Brand has unveiled higher-end versions of the AJ1 in more recent years. The Jordan 1 Retro High Desert Sand (Women's), a women's-exclusive sneaker, is a wonderful example of this. This AJ1 has a Desert Sand-colored premium upper featuring Air Jordan branding done up in a gorgeous Metallic Red Bronze color. It also tinkers with the AJ1's actual design by including decorative stitching that connects the upper to the sneaker's midsole. There is a strip of canvas in between these two parts of the shoe as well that further differentiates this AJ1 from those that came before it.
