The New Balance 550 White University Blue Grey Gum is a chunky shoe with a build that’s reminiscent of the style of the late 80s. The White University Blue Grey Gum New Balance 550 has an upper constructed with a mix of white mesh, leather, and suede. White mesh appears around the ankle and heel for breathability, while white leather forms the base for the side panels and toe box. A soft suede gray overlay forms the toe cap and the mudguards on each side, which also feature small perforations. University Blue 550 branding is seen on the outer side of the forefoot, while University Blue also accents the suede overlays. New Balance "N" logos appear on each side in a bubbly cracked blue leather, and more cracked blue leather accents the ankle. The suede heel counter contains more branding, while the tongue contains a logo patch. The shoe sits on a chunky white midsole and gum rubber outsole. What we like best about this shoe are the cracked leather accents, which add visual interest. The New Balance 550 White University Blue Grey Gum was released on February 22, 2024, for $110.
