The Nike Air Foamposite One Beijing Planet Hoops takes the innovative silhouette considered Penny Hardaway's signature shoe and dresses the upper to honor Beijing. The Nike Air Foamposite installment of the Planet Hoops collection sports a seamless, molded Foamposite upper with a galaxy theme in gradient hues of green to red to purple to blue. A midfoot arch support in black has white speckles, further emphasizing the idea of outer space. This upper is decorated with silver graphics of a dragon to pay homage to Beijing, and the debossed scaly pattern on the black leather overlays at the eyestays and collar further enhance the dragon motif. The stacked foam midsole blends seamlessly into the upper, and the black rubber outsole features a herringbone traction pattern. What we appreciate most about this singular pair of kicks are the hits of branding. Hoops Planet branding adorns one insole, and Penny Hardaway 1 Cent branding on the other. White Nike Swooshes dot the lateral eyestays, and 1 Cent branding reappears on the outsole. The Nike Air Foamposite One Beijing Planet Hoops debuted on May 23, 2020, for $250 retail.
