Nike decided to celebrate the success of two of its most important sneakers from the late 1980s and early 1990s in 2018. The result was the Nike Air Max 90/1 White Gold. To create the Nike Air Max 90/1 sneaker, Nike took the upper from its Air Max 1, which was first released in 1987, and fused it with the sole from its Air Max 90, which was released a few years later in 1990. This led to the development of a hybrid sneaker that combined each of these elements to make them look new again. What we quickly came to appreciate about this sneaker was that it ended up being a true celebration thanks to the colors chosen for it. It had a crispy white upper with gold metallic accents that helped make this shoe feel like an important moment in the Nike timeline. The Nike Air Max 90/1 White Gold made its debut on September 1, 2018, and it retailed for $150.
