The Nike Air VaporMax CDG Black is a lace-free athletic shoe featuring a FlyKnit upper in textured black fabric, bordered by shades of white to create a charcoal tip. The VaporMax exhibits the first time that Nike partnered with a fashion label on an Air Max shoe design that was still to be released. Nike partnered with COMME des GARÇONS and Dover Street Market founder Rei Kawakubo to create the VaporMax, which made its initial debut at the Paris runway during fashion week. The CDG Black Nike Air VaporMax has the Nike Swoosh printed on the fabric in multi-tonal Black. The chunky, rounded midsole in transparent, black, and gray is anchored by a visible Air Max unit. COMME des GARÇONS and Nike Air Max branding appear on the upper and the rear heel.
