adidas Stan Smith

The Stan Smith began as a tennis shoe developed with the French player Robert Haillet in the mid-1960s. adidas France, under Horst Dassler, signed Stan Smith in 1972; the first shoes with his name were released in 1973, and Haillet's name was dropped from the shoe only in 1978. The design has not changed: a white leather upper, perforated three stripes on the side for air, an off-white sole and green on the heel tab and tongue.

By 1989 the shoe had sold 22 million pairs and entered the Guinness Book of Records. In 2021 adidas released the first Stan Smith with at least 50 percent recycled material in the upper. This hub lists every Stan Smith colourway from the shops we track, with sizes in stock and the checked date.
