adidas Ultra Boost

The Ultraboost debuted in 2015 as adidas's running shoe built on a full Boost midsole. Boost itself came first: adidas's innovation team and BASF spent three years making the material fit for running shoes, and the Energy Boost launched in New York at the end of February 2013. The Ultraboost paired that midsole with a Primeknit upper; the 13 February 2018 version used a new Primeknit with reduced stretch for a closer fit.

The Ultraboost 5 of 11 July 2024, which adidas calls the largest redesign since 2015, added 9 mm more Boost and an adaptive Primeknit upper.
