Converse Chuck Taylor All Star

The All Star started in 1917 as the Non-Skid, one of the first shoes made for basketball, and took the All Star name in 1919 in brown canvas. Chuck Taylor joined Converse as a salesman in 1922 and his signature was added to the ankle patch in 1934. The white canvas version with red and blue pinstripes dates from 1936, the low-top from 1957, and in 1971 Converse added five more colours. Today it is sold as a high and a low in canvas, leather and seasonal materials; the Chuck 70 is the heavier build with its own page.
