hi_session and hi_acct: only if you sign in to an account. hi_session holds your session (a random token, 90 days); hi_acct only tells the page that you are signed in.

lang: the language you chose. country: the country you chose. Each is a cookie for one year. consent: your answer to the cookie bar - or, where Google's certified consent platform asks instead of ours, a note that it did - kept in your browser's storage until you clear it. digest_bar: if you dismissed the mail bar, kept 30 days in the same storage. size_eu: the size chip you last picked, also in that storage.

_ga, _ga_*: Google Analytics 4, page views with anonymised IP. Two years. Choose “Only necessary” in the bar to keep them off. To withdraw consent later, clear this site's data in your browser and the bar asks again.
