The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next 2 Ekiden Scream Green pays homage to the annual Japanese marathon relay with a running shoe that packs a lot of pop and power. The Scream Green colorway of the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next 2 Ekiden sports an Atomknit upper for a snug, breathable sock-like fit. Bright light green is the dominant hue, with supportive underlays and a Nike Swoosh visible beneath. The Atomknit heel, laces, pull tabs, and Nike Swooshes are black, and hits of orange appear on the heel and in the Atomknit branding on the eye stays. What impresses us most about this shoe is the eye-popping midsole. Made of ZoomX foam to provide cushioning and springy energy return, this midsole also houses a forefoot Zoom Air unit and full-length Flyplate carbon fiber inserts. The black rubber outsole has cut-out vents that expose the Flyplate and allow the ZoomX to expand.
