Nike Blazer Mid 77 Vintage Coming to America

Shortly after creating a Nike Zoom Freak 1 for Giannis Antetokounmpo that was inspired by the work uniform Eddie Murphy wore in the ‘Coming to America’ movie, Nike followed it up with an almost identical Nike Blazer Mid 77 Vintage. The Nike Blazer Mid 77 Vintage Coming to America featured a similar design to the Freak 1. This Nike Blazer Mid included a red plaid upper with yellow embroidered Swooshes and pops of blue on both the eyestay and the heel. It also had a green leather lining with bright-white laces and a white midsole to match. There was a gum rubber outsole as well to tie the whole look together. But our favorite part about this sneaker was that it really leaned into the ‘Coming to America’ theme by including branding for the movie on the back. It made it feel more official by pointing directly to the inspiration behind the shoe. The Nike Blazer Mid 77 Vintage Coming to America was released on February 26, 2020, and retailed for $160.
