Founded by Fausto Vitello and Eric Swenson in 1981 to promote their hardware brand, Independent Truck Company, Thrasher evolved to become the world's most influential skateboard magazine. Chronicling the sport's rise from the underground, Thrasher has expanded into an institution within the culture, spanning film, music and apparel. A complete set of all 12 issues released in 1988, notable features include January 1988's look at the careers of Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta, a March 1988 interview with Bones Brigade member Tommy Guerrero and July 1988's recap of the legendary Savannah Slamma II competition event, featuring Tony Hawk and Steve Caballero.
