“23” heel branding, rather than the 2016 “45”, distinguishes the reported 2026 design; its patent-leather cut is described as closer to the 2016 pair than to the lower 2000 mudguard. It is also listed for December 12, 2026, though that date remains unconfirmed.
Black, blue and familiar AJ11 details
The reported design has Varsity Royal Jumpman accents, with “23” on the heel and “Jumpman Jam” on the tongue. A white midsole and icy translucent outsole frame the black mesh and patent-leather upper.
This pair differs from the 2016 edition, which used “45” on the heel and Concord blue on the Jumpman. Its reported patent-leather cut and overall shape sit closer to 2016 than to the lower-cut mudguard of the 2000 retail pair.
Space Jam gave the colourway its enduring nickname in 1996; Michael Jordan had already worn the black-and-blue pair during the NBA Playoffs the year before. The 2026 return is timed to the film’s 30th anniversary.
After its first retail release in 2000, the colourway came back in 2009 and again in 2016. The versions kept the black, white and blue palette while changing details such as heel branding and the patent-leather cut.
