Obsidian Mowalola Air Jordan 14 Mule “Patent Croc”: a patent leather upper

Mowalola’s Obsidian Air Jordan 14 Mule is reported for 26 February 2027, though that date remains unconfirmed. Its Patent Croc design combines a laceless shape with glossy, crocodile-textured leather.

An earlier silver mule was the first pair from Mowalola’s collaboration with Jordan Brand. At the label’s London runway show, Obsidian joined Dark Team Red and Black to form the three-colour Patent Croc pack.
Obsidian leather and black details
Black covers the tongue area and sections of the midsole, breaking up the upper’s glossy surface. Across the patent leather, a crocodile texture gives the dark colour more detail than a smooth finish would.
This Obsidian pair carries style code IX0136-400 and the full colourway Obsidian/Gym Red/Black/Metallic Silver. It’s the adult version linked below, with the Patent Croc name identifying its textured finish.
A basketball design taken to the runway
The Air Jordan 14 dates to 1998, when Michael Jordan wore it during his final championship run with Chicago. Its original design drew on Ferrari sports cars, with a shield-shaped badge among its best-known details.
Mowalola uses that basketball model as the starting point for an open-backed mule without laces. Here, the runway treatment centres on patent leather and crocodile texture rather than a conventional basketball upper.
