The Aunt Pearl editions began with the KD 4 in 2012. This new pair continues Kevin Durant’s tribute to his aunt Pearl, who helped raise him and died from lung cancer in 2000.
Pink is central to the tribute, which Nike links to continued efforts to find a cure for lung cancer. On this KD 19, the reported granite-like finish gives the pink upper a different look from earlier pairs described with softer shades and floral details.
The colour specification is Pink Foam, Metallic Summit White and Stadium Green. Release coverage describes a pink upper with darker pink Swooshes, silver KD branding on the tongue and a pale pink outsole; those details give the colourway contrast while keeping pink in the lead.
The KD 19 also has a TPU element at the midfoot and heel, inspired by Durant’s nickname. That structural detail is separate from the tribute artwork and colour, and gives this edition another connection to the player behind the KD line.
