How the upper is built
The XT-EVO grows out of the XT-6, the trail shoe that pushed Salomon into streetwear through the late 2010s. On this model, a molded plastic element shapes the upper above a grid.
Beneath that shell, an open grid lets air pass through the openings. Swooping lines run across the molded shell, with a grid element beneath it.
Those lines run forward in long arcs from the heel. They give the XT-EVO a sculpted profile that looks distinct from the welded builds on older Salomon runners such as the XT-4 OG.
XT-6 outsole carried over
The XT-EVO mounts the existing XT-6 sole unit. The XT-EVO is built atop the XT-6 sole unit, with a molded element in the upper.
