Vans Authentic SZA Knockdown: fold-down heel on 22 October
Vans and SZA put Sage Adams watercolor on aged canvas, with a heel that folds flat. Vans lists the Authentic Kickdown for 22 October 2026 in Spain.
Vans lists the Authentic SZA Knockdown for 22 October 2026. This VANSZA pair, also called Authentic Kickdown, puts Sage Adams watercolor on aged canvas and uses a heel that folds down.
Collapsible heel and distressed canvas
You still get the low lace-up, but the heel counter folds flat. Slip the shoe on, or wear it with the back down.
SZA often steps on the backs of her own shoes. That habit is built into the heel, so you don't crush a fixed counter to get the look.
Aged canvas covers the upper. A light oil on the vamp creates the used look before the first wear. Sage Adams put nature motifs in watercolor on that front panel.
Fish sit among those drawings in descriptions of the upper. Vans links the theme to SZA's love of nature and to shoes that go on fast.
The worn finish comes from the factory, not a past owner. This canvas starts softer and less even than a clean, solid-colour Authentic.
A custom LX Sola insole sits inside for comfort and hold through the day. The box, hangtag, lace tips and logo all carry VANSZA marks.

The Authentic behind VANSZA
Vans brought out the deck shoe in 1966 and first called it the Style 44. That lace-up canvas shape came before the Era and the Old Skool.
The Authentic name arrived later for the same low shoe. It stayed a plain canvas lace-up, with no side stripe like the Old Skool. Open panels leave room for a print across the upper.
Checkerboards and artist prints have used that canvas for years. Here the artwork is watercolor on the vamp, not a small logo on the heel.
Reports place SZA as Vans' artistic director from 2025. VANSZA is her first full collection in that role. Before the retail run, she had one-off pairs made for herself.
Both parts of VANSZA were shown on 10 and 11 September 2026. The pop-up stood at 260 Bowery in New York, with trees, fallen leaves and other outdoor pieces.
Release timing in Spain
Vans marks the Kickdown as coming on 22 October 2026 in Spain. That day is also the reported date for the first VANSZA drop, online and in selected shops.
Look for style code VN00115AWHT and the colour name SZA Knockdown. VANSZA shows on the collaboration, the box and the hangtag, so the package matches the shoe.
This Authentic sits beside a black and white Knu Skool Mule in the first drop. The mule keeps the chunky Knu Skool shape as a slip-on.
This pair goes another way, with worn canvas, nature art and a heel you fold. For the companion shoe, read the <a href="/blog/vans-knu-skool-mule-sza-black-white-vn00119wba2">SZA Knu Skool Mule guide</a>.
A second VANSZA collection is reported for 8 April 2027. Coverage expects the LX Tabi Hiker and a camouflage Knu Skool. That drop stays separate from this Authentic.
The LX Tabi Hiker is described as a low outdoor shoe with a split toe, cable laces and no usual tongue. A rugged rubber sole is said to climb partway up the sides.
Colour stories shown so far include blue with orange and green, brown with green and purple, and black with red accents. Clothing in the wider plan pulls from workwear and from pieces already in SZA's wardrobe.
Named pieces include a Trompe L'Oeil fleece set, graphic hoodies, denim jackets, pants, socks and flame-print hats. Before you buy this Authentic, check that the heel folds and that the vamp shows the watercolor.
A plain Authentic does not have that heel or that print. Style code VN00115AWHT is the match for this SZA Knockdown colourway.
