The adidas AE 2 Black Lime Burst, nicknamed Glow, features a Core Black base across the lightweight black mesh upper with matching TPU overlays on the forefoot and heel, with Lime Burst green accents on the toecap, adidas and AE branding, the TPU louvre edges running along the lateral and medial forefoot and heel, and a glow-in-the-dark lime rubber outsole that gives the shoe its Glow nickname — making the outsole the most distinctive detail of the release by activating visually in low-light environments in a way no standard release colorway can. The AE 2's construction advances from the AE 1 with oversized forked stability clips running from the forefoot to the upper for enhanced support and a futuristic aesthetic, ventilation zones across the forefoot, a hybrid cushioning setup combining Lightboost foam with Lightstrike cushioning for a balance of court feel and energy return, a propulsion plate embedded in the midsole for added energy return, and a multi-directional herringbone traction pattern on the outsole designed for aggressive movement in all directions. The Lime Burst colorway directly references the Minnesota Timberwolves' alternate jersey accent color that appeared on Anthony Edwards' first signature shoe in the Lucid Lime AE 1, maintaining the color connection to Edwards' NBA team identity while applying it to the more architecturally complex and more performance-forward AE 2 platform.
