About this product
Paul Van Doren designed the original Authentic silhouette behind the Vans Authentic 'Van Doren Special'. Released in 2023, this men's version pairs a textile upper with Red Checkerboard colouring. Textile gives the shoe a fabric surface rather than the appearance of smooth leather, though the precise feel depends on the weave. Red makes a more assertive colour choice than a neutral shade; in an outfit, it can sit alongside black, grey or denim blue, keeping the surrounding clothes restrained while allowing the footwear's colour to stand out.
