About this product
A synthetic upper gives the Birkenstock Barbados Essentials White a material construction distinct from leather, with a synthetic lining continuing that choice inside. White keeps the appearance visually simple: it can contrast with black clothing, sit alongside pale denim or form part of an outfit built around light neutrals. The Barbados was released in 2021 and uses an ethylene vinyl acetate, or EVA, sole. This foamed material is generally light in weight, making it a different material proposition from solid rubber. Between its single-colour treatment and its synthetic components, the design leaves the focus on an uncomplicated palette rather than contrasting shades.
