The Nike Air Max 1 Bred takes a classic Tinker Hatfield design that burst onto the sneaker scene in 1987, streamlines the look, and dresses it in a dark colorway with subtle hits of brightness. This iteration of the Air Max 1 is built upon an upper base of lightweight, tightly woven mesh in an anthracite hue. Rich black suede forms the overlays that course across this upper, while anthracite leather forms the iconic side panel Nike swoosh. Nike Air Max branding embroidered in red hits the heel, while red branding also adorns the black tongue tag. A red embroidered Nike swoosh accents the lateral toe cap. A foam midsole in anthracite provides cushioning and houses a visible Air cassette under the heel. The black rubber outsole sports modified waffle lugs in order to absorb shock and provide grip with every step. The detail that we enjoy most about this pair of kicks is the red tinting in the Air unit, which ties together the black and red or ‘bred’ look of the shoe. The Nike Air Max 1 Bred was released on December 19, 2023, for a retail price of $150.
