The Nike Cortez Aloe Verde Gum takes a classic silhouette from 1972 and re-crafts it with a wider toe, firmer side panels, and reengineered materials meant to prevent warping and maintain the vintage shape. The Aloe Verde colorway of the Nike Cortez features an upper base of tumbled white leather with stitching on the collar and side panel. White suede overlays adorn the heel, eyestays, and toe, adding style as well as structural support. Green tumbled leather forms the side-panel Nike Swoosh and the heel tab with its debossed Nike branding. White laces cross over a white tongue and match the white sock liner. The red insoles and white tongue tag both sport Nike branding with a Swoosh. What we enjoy most about this sneaker is the retro sole unit built for comfort. A white foam midsole with a black foam wedge offers cushioning, while a gum rubber outsole features a herringbone pattern that absorbs impact and provides traction.
