ASICS GEL-1130: the colourways our shops list, and how ASICS sizing runs
The GEL-1130 is one of the ASICS silhouettes we carry deepest. Here is what the catalogue actually holds — the codes, the dates the marketplaces give them, and the size chart we publish beside them.
A shop listing tells you a shoe is a GEL-1130 and very little else. Colourway names are written differently from one shop to the next, the product photo is small, and the same pair can appear under three different titles in a single afternoon. The style code is the field that does not move, and it is the one thing our catalogue and the shops agree on. Everything below is sorted by that code, because that is the only way to be sure you are looking at the pair you think you are.
The colourways we hold
Every row below is a pair with its own page on this site. The date is the release date the marketplaces list — the same field our release calendar publishes — so treat it as the current plan rather than a promise from anyone, because those dates move. A dash in that column means the marketplaces never gave us a date for the pair: it is in the catalogue on the strength of a shop listing, and a shop listing is a better reason to be there than a date anyway.
Codes, the catalogue's own names, and the date the marketplaces give each pair. Codes and dates are data and are not translated; the product block further down carries today's offers and the shops behind them.

The prefix tells you who the pair is for
There are four prefixes across the GEL-1130 rows we hold, and the split is completely regular. Every pair our catalogue marks as a women's one sits on 1202 — 1202A164 in its several colourways, 1202A501, 1202A507. Every pair marked (GS) or (PS) — the grade-school and pre-school size runs — sits on 1204. The plain adult pairs sit on 1201 or 1203, and which of the two you get depends on the year, not on the shoe. So a prefix tells you the size run before you have read a single size, and the code after the dash tells you the colourway.
That is worth knowing for a practical reason. Searching a shop for 1202A164 will only ever return women's pairs, and searching for 1204 will only ever return children's ones, so if a listing you have found is on a 1204 prefix and you were about to order your own size, you have found the wrong listing rather than a bargain. The reverse is just as useful: if you are buying for a child and the code you have written down begins 1203, nothing in that listing will fit them.
The size chart we publish, and the two gaps in it
We publish the ASICS men's chart on its own page. It runs from EU 35 1/2 to EU 50 1/2 in half steps, and unlike most of the charts on this site it is continuous: every European number has a US and a UK number beside it, with no repeats and no rows that contradict each other. The one thing it does not have is a plain EU 41 and a plain EU 43. The chart steps from EU 40 1/2 straight to EU 41 1/2, and from EU 42 1/2 straight to EU 43 1/2.

The practical consequence is that a shop advertising an ASICS boot or runner in EU 41 is advertising a size this chart does not contain, which means the shop is using its own numbering rather than the one on the page you are reading. That is not a reason to avoid the shop. It is a reason to read the UK or the US number in the listing and convert back through the table here, because those two columns are the ones that survive the trip between our chart and a shop's own.
Where the GEL-1130 sits among the ASICS we hold
The GEL-1130 is not the only ASICS in the catalogue, and it is not the only one on an 1203 prefix — which is the point. The prefix identifies the brand's numbering block, not the silhouette. Five other ASICS shapes we carry are listed below with a code each, and four of them share the 1203A or 1203B prefix with the GEL-1130.

Two things follow from that table. The first is that a search for 1203 in a shop will mix all five silhouettes together, so the prefix is useless for narrowing anything down; only the full code works. The second is that if you are choosing between ASICS shapes rather than hunting one code, the GEL-NYC is the one whose coverage most closely resembles the GEL-1130's, and the GEL-Lyte III is at the other end of the scale, present here as a single anniversary colourway. That difference is not about which shoe is better. It is about which shoe the shops we check happen to have bought this season.
What to do with this
- Search by the full style code, including the part after the dash. It is the only field the shops agree on, and the only one that survives a shop renaming a colourway.
- Read the prefix before you read anything else. 1202 is a women's pair, 1204 is a children's one, and 1201 or 1203 is adult. It saves you opening the wrong listing entirely.
- Check the size chart page before you convert, not after. The EU 41 and EU 43 gaps are the two places a shop's own numbering will quietly disagree with ours.
- On a pair that only has a date and no shop behind it, waiting costs you nothing. A pair several shops end up listing is the one worth comparing side by side.
Each page names the shops that have the pair and shows today's offers, in that shop's own size numbering. Nothing here is a figure we wrote down once and forgot to update.
