When do sneakers go down in price? The sale calendar
· By Redacción HYPEIBIZA
Black Friday is on 27 November 2026, Cyber Monday on 30 November, and the winter sales start in early January. Reductions were already rising through October.
Sneakers get cheaper at a few fixed points in the year: Black Friday week, the January sales, the mid-season sales and the summer sales. Between those, prices still move, but fewer pairs are reduced at once.
If the pair you want is not a new release, waiting for one of those windows usually pays. If it is a new release in a popular size, waiting is a risk, because it can sell out first.
Sale dates for the year ahead
Sale dates from now to next summer. Shops set their own start and end days, so treat the windows as approximate:
| Event | Date | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Singles' Day | 11 Nov 2026 | Some online shops |
| Black Friday | 27 Nov 2026 | Most shops, often all week |
| Cyber Monday | 30 Nov 2026 | Online, last day of Black Friday offers |
| Boxing Day | 26 Dec 2026 | UK shops |
| Rebajas de invierno | Early Jan 2027 | Spain and most of Europe, into February |
| Mid-season sale | Spring 2027 | Many fashion and sports shops |
| Rebajas de verano | Late Jun 2027 | Spain and most of Europe, into August |
Black Friday is the day after the fourth Thursday of November, which in 2026 is Friday 27 November. Many shops start their offers on the Monday before, or earlier, and keep them until Cyber Monday on 30 November.
In Spain, the winter sales traditionally start on 7 January, the day after Reyes. Many online shops now start in the last days of December or on 1 January. The deepest cuts tend to come later in January, when the range of sizes is thinner.
December before Christmas is usually quieter. Black Friday offers end, and fewer new reductions start until the winter sales. If you need a pair as a gift, the Black Friday window is the better time to buy it.
The summer sales follow the same pattern as the winter ones. They start in late June or on 1 July and run into August. Mid-season sales in spring are shorter and smaller, and not every shop runs one.
What October already shows
Our sale calendar counts, each week, the share of footwear prices that sit clearly under their own usual price. A price counts when it is at least 3 % below the median price that shop charged for that pair over the previous 30 days.
That share rose every week in October, from 12 % in the week of 28 September to 16 % in the week of 19 October. More pairs were reduced each week, a month before Black Friday.
So there is no need to wait for the Friday itself. Some reductions arrive weeks before Black Friday, and a pair that drops in November is not guaranteed to drop again on the day.
Share of each brand's footwear prices at 3 % or more under their usual price, from 30 September to 25 October 2026:
| Brand | Share reduced |
|---|---|
| Vans | 23 % |
| PUMA | 22 % |
| ASICS | 19 % |
| Converse | 18 % |
| New Balance | 17 % |
| Nike | 16 % |
| adidas | 15 % |
| Crocs | 13 % |
| On | 12 % |
| Hoka | 11 % |
Brands differ. Vans and PUMA had the most pairs under their usual price in October. Running brands such as Hoka and On had the fewest, so a reduction on those is rarer and worth taking when it appears.

Which pairs drop and which do not
- Older colourways drop more than new ones. A launch from this month is rarely reduced in the next sale.
- The previous version of a running shoe drops when the new one arrives, so watch the old number.
- Common sizes sell out first. Very small and very large sizes often stay in the sale longer.
- Collaborations and limited pairs seldom go on sale at shops. They sell out at full price.
- Basics such as white leather lows are reduced often, so a good price on them comes back.
Check the shop's return window before Black Friday. Many shops extend returns for orders placed in November until January, which lets you buy early and still change your mind.
A struck-through price is only useful if it is real. On our pages, the crossed-out price is one the shop itself showed, never a list price we made up.
