The Jordan 41 University Red, style code HV6474-601, is a basketball shoe that is red across almost the whole shoe, with Infrared 23 mixed through the upper. Its material has a woven texture, and a carbon-fiber plate under the foot shows through a window in the midsole. The US release is reported for 25 October 2026, through Nike and selected Jordan Brand retailers.
Red, infrared and the woven upper
Red covers almost the whole shoe, and Infrared 23 is mixed in through the upper. Infrared has a long history in Jordan shoes, most famously on an Air Jordan 3 from 2009. Infrared 23 is the deeper shade of that colour, and here it sits against University Red.
Under that texture sits a mesh base with a web-like pattern across it, applied through a rubberised material. The collar sits close around the ankle.
That web pattern is the same idea the Ja 3 used, a mesh base covered with a rubberised web. It is the main surface the red sits on, so it gives this pair its texture instead of a flat leather or suede finish.
The 41 follows the Air Jordan 40, which set a clean, simple shape drawn from the original AJ1. Jordan used that new outline to bring older ideas back, including an ultra-high-top version called the 4028. The 41 keeps the simple shape and gives it a woven surface to build colour on.
What sits under the foot
A window through the midsole shows the carbon-fiber plate under the middle of the foot. ZoomX branding is printed on the shoe. Both details show on the pair itself, so you can check them in a shop.
The cushioning setup that goes with the plate is reported as Cushlon 3.0 foam with ZoomX under the forefoot, an Air Zoom unit in the heel and a full-length Zoom Strobel unit. Below that sits a translucent outsole with a new traction pattern, so light comes through the sole as well as showing red above it.
ZoomX is the one name you can read straight off the shoe. The rest of the performance picture is still being set, so read those cushioning numbers as expected details rather than a finished spec sheet.
A carbon plate like this stiffens the section under the arch, which matters in a basketball shoe where the foot pivots a lot. Carbon plates moved out of running shoes and into basketball models over the last few years, and the window in the midsole is where you can see one.
Official photos show the whole shoe, so the red upper, the windowed midsole and the translucent sole can be seen together before the date arrives.
Why this colour is called Ruby
Jordan Brand calls the colourway Ruby. It fits a gemstone theme on the Air Jordan 41, and the name points at Michael Jordan's two three-peats with the Chicago Bulls.
The 41 is the newest numbered Air Jordan, following the 40, and the numbered line goes back to the first Air Jordan 1 in 1985. This red pair is reported to have debuted the model in China on 28 August 2026.

In the US, the date being reported is 25 October 2026, and the pair is also listed for 8 November 2026. Nike and selected Jordan Brand retailers are named as the places it will sell, and neither date has been confirmed by Jordan Brand, so treat both as expected.
