Vans Old Skool

The Old Skool was introduced in 1977 as Style 36, the second Vans shoe made specifically for skateboarding and the first with the Sidestripe, a doodle by co-founder Paul Van Doren that Vans also calls the jazz stripe. The suede toe cap was added so the shoe would survive griptape as skating changed through the 1970s and 1980s. Vans lists it today in canvas, suede, leather and the Skate Old Skool and Premium Old Skool versions, in solid colours and in checkerboard, leopard and tie-dye prints.

Sizing: Vans says the Old Skool fits true to size for most designs, and suggests a half or full size up, or the wide option, for wider feet, especially in the tapered version. This hub lists every Old Skool colourway from the shops we track, with sizes in stock and the checked date.
