Only 10 of the 57 trainer shops that deliver to Spain say they deliver to the Canary Islands

We read the delivery terms of the 70 shops we compare. Of the 57 that deliver to Spain, only 10 say in writing that they deliver to the Canary Islands and 22 exclude them; the other 25 do not say. For anyone shopping from the islands, Ceuta or Melilla, a good deal may be out of reach.

The Canary and Balearic Islands, Ceuta and Melilla come from the text of each shop's terms, coded by hand on 27 October 2026. A shop with no text about a region counts as unclear.

What we found

Data of 27 October 2026. What the text of each shop's terms says, read by hand. "Unclear" does not mean "no".

The Canary Islands are the hardest destination. 10 shops say they deliver, 22 exclude them and 25 say nothing. The reason is tax: the Canaries sit outside the EU VAT area, so every parcel from the mainland needs a customs declaration (the DUA) and pays the Canary tax, IGIC, instead of VAT. Many shops would rather not deal with it.

The Balearic Islands have no such barrier, and it shows. 18 shops say they deliver and 10 more imply it, because they exclude other Spanish regions by name but not this one. Only one shop excludes the Balearics. Even so, 28 shops do not say.

Ceuta and Melilla sit outside the EU customs territory and levy their own tax, IPSI. In the terms they fare worse than the Canaries: 6 shops confirm delivery, 2 imply it and 21 exclude them. But the shops that do deliver are bigger: 16.3% of offers in stock are within reach, against 10.2% for the Canaries.

Beyond Spain, Portugal and Germany have the most shops, 34 each, followed by France (30), Belgium and Italy (29). Reach differs, though: from Germany you can buy 47.4% of the offers; from Portugal, with the same number of shops, 30%. The United Kingdom drops to 23 shops and the United States to 14.

What it means for you

If you live in the Canaries, Ceuta or Melilla, check delivery before you compare prices: more than one in three shops that deliver to Spain excludes you in writing.

If a shop says nothing, ask before you pay or try your address at checkout. "Unclear" is not "no", but it is not "yes" either.

In the Canaries, count taxes and customs clearance in the final price: an order from the mainland can carry costs the shop does not show.

What the data cannot tell you

We count what each shop says in its terms, not what its checkout accepts. 41 of the 70 entries are partial and 8 are unverified, so every figure is a minimum. For the Canaries, the true count lies between 10 and 35 shops.

We do not measure the cost or time of delivery to the islands. Offers within reach count offers, not distinct products.

We read and coded the texts by hand on 27 October 2026. If a shop changes its terms, the figure changes in the next edition.

Method

We read the delivery terms each shop publishes and record the countries and regions it names, with the quote. "Implied yes": the text excludes other Spanish regions by name but not this one. With no text about a region, the shop counts as unclear. For the regions, only shops that deliver to Spain count.
