About this product
The year 2000 brought the unisex Vans Old Skool in navy and white. Canvas forms the upper, a plain woven cloth that looks matte, feels dry rather than slick, and creases where the foot flexes. Laces close the front. The sole is rubber, specifically a waffle rubber sole, with a grid of raised blocks moulded in that same material. Textile lines the interior, closer to a shirt cloth than to a bare shell. A padded cuff finishes the opening, and reinforced toe caps add an extra layer over the toe. Navy sits deep beside white, a two-tone mix that works with chambray, grey sweats or a pale jacket. Canvas can fade a little and take on a soft nap, while the rubber keeps a firmer outline.
