Story mfg.’s “Trees Are Poems” GEL-Transcend FJ arrives in gingham

The ASICS GEL-Transcend FJ joins Story mfg.’s “Trees Are Poems” collaboration in two gingham colourways: black, 1203B194-001, and dark brown, 1203B194-200. The reported rollout runs from a Soho event on 10 November to online sales on 11 November, then ASICS and selected stockists on 20 November.
Gingham, mesh and beads on the laces
Each pair comes with beads that can be threaded onto the laces, adding a small detail that can be changed without altering the shoe. The two versions use black and dark brown checks.
Mesh makes up the upper, while the gingham pattern appears across the toe, heel and lace panel. Story mfg. branding sits on the tongue, heel and insoles.
The “Trees Are Poems” name ties the pack to walking and rambling. Story mfg. describes the shoes as made with walking in mind, giving the collaboration a clear theme beyond its two colourways.
The GEL-Transcend FJ is not the first ASICS collaboration for Story mfg.; the label previously worked with the brand on the GEL-Venture 6. This release returns to the partnership with a different model and a walking-focused idea.
Pair codes and release dates
The reported schedule places ASICS and selected stockists last, on 20 November. Online sales are expected on 11 November, while Blue in Green Soho is listed for an in-person release on 10 November.
Early collection is also reported at Story mfg.’s London studio during its free Rambling Club event on 7 and 8 November. The event would come before the three dated sales stages, so its timing is distinct from the wider rollout.
The two pairs are distinguished by colour and code: 1203B194-001 is the black gingham version, and 1203B194-200 is dark brown.
